• Please contact us for delivery prices to surrounding areas. Deliveries are made in cubic metre bags for split fire wood logs, delivered using one of Treefellers tipper vehicles. Suitable access will be required to tip logs at required location. Delivery radius is from Chester.

What does seasoned mean?

Seasoned means timber that has been dried for a period of time to reduce the moisture content of the wood. The lower the moisture content of the wood, the better the logs will burn and the more heat will be produced. If you use logs made from timber that has recently been cut down, the moisture content will be far higher. These logs will burn, but so much energy will be used in evaporating the moisture, very little heat will be produced. A seasoned log is generally thought of as having a moisture content of less than 20%. The lower the moisture content the better! Treefellers logs have been well seasoned and are generally much lower than this 20%.
